ENHANCE YOUR SKILLSET WITH IMI GRADE 1

After completing the IMI Grade 2, a budding auto glazing technician can move on to the IMI Grade 1 accreditation. Again technicians must pass a series of practical assessments and an online knowledge test at an ATA Approved Assessment Centre. To be eligible to take this assessment, a technician should ideally have a minimum level of 2 years' experience in an auto glazing role.
All accredited IMI Automotive Technician Accreditation technicians agree to abide to a Code of Conduct to ensure professional standards are maintained. Download the attached Code of Conduct document.

SKILL LEVEL FOR THE IMI GRADE 1 ACCREDITATION:

  • Remove and replace a complex windscreen
  • Repair chips and cracks
  • Remove and replace body glass
  • Remove intact, refit direct glazed heated rear window
